Upon arriving in LA and immersing myself in the wonders of California, I embarked on an unforgettable bike journey to San Francisco—a 550-mile odyssey along the picturesque Pacific Highway coast.
Throughout the six-day expedition, I encountered a tapestry of experiences: from breathtaking scenic vistas to navigating through bustling holidaymaker traffic and battling relentless headwinds. Finally, I arrived at the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, greeted by its majestic presence.
The journey was a whirlwind of contrasts. One night, I found myself lodging in the opulent home of a multi-millionaire, boasting views of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's beachside residence, juxtaposed with another night spent in a humble storm drain — each experience adding to the adventure.
While blessed with glorious sunshine, I also endured relentless winds, so fierce at times I found myself pedalling downhill to counter their force. Many had warned me about the challenges of travelling from South to North, underestimating the intensity of the Pacific coast winds.
Despite the sore legs and aching bottom, reaching San Francisco filled me with anticipation for the exploration that lay ahead.
